Supplementary information
to Sweden’s national
implementation report

This report constitutes the Institute’s contribution to the Aarhus Secretariat with complementary information ahead of the Party of States’ conference in November 2025.

The Institute has since its inception documented selected human rights developments relating to climate change and the environment in annual reports and in alternative reporting to treaty bodies.
This report is informed by this work, plus additional observations from media, as well as some preliminary findings from the Institute’s ongoing investigation into the situation of human rights defenders in Sweden.
